1 Likewise, wives, submitting to your own husbands, so that even if some disobey the word, they will be gained through the conduct of the wives without a word. 2 having observed your pure conduct in fear 3 Do not let your outward adornment be braiding the hair and putting on gold or putting on garments as cosmic. 4 but the hidden thing of the heart in the incorruptible beauty of the meekness and quiet spirit, which is very precious before God. 5 For in this way the holy women of old who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands. 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you have become, doing good and not fearing any terror. 7 Husbands likewise, dwelling with them according to knowledge, as with a weaker vessel, the female, granting them honor as also joint-heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
